Roberta N. Young

This month’s featured member is Roberta N. Young, the audit practice area partner and managing partner of De Meo, Young, McGrath & Co., PA (“DYM”), in Fort Lauderdale. She offers over 30 years experience in tax, auditing and accounting. Prior to joining the firm in 1988 and being named a Partner in 1992, she was Director of Taxes for Texas Utilities Co. System.
Roberta’s responsibilities as managing partner include day-to-day supervision of the firm as well as planning technological and staffing needs. Roberta is also responsible for SEC and both not-for-profit and for profit audits.
DYM performs SEC audits in a variety of professional industries including insurance and staffing and Roberta’s broad financial and accounting background combined with technical tax knowledge allows her to meet the unique needs of these clients. She is a licensed CPA in Florida and Texas and presents annual seminars on changes in accounting and auditing rules and regulations.
A graduate of North Texas State University in Denton, Texas, Roberta holds a Bachelor of Business Administration Degree in Accounting.
As an active member of her community, Roberta is currently Treasurer and Past President of the Gold Coast Jazz Society, Treasurer and Past President of Senior Volunteer Services and Treasurer of The Cultural Foundation of Broward. She is a member of the National Association of Women Business Owners, Broward Women’s Alliance, and American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.
Roberta has been a member of the FICPA since 1991 and the Business Technology Section since 2002. Roberta is also a member of the Business Technology Section Resource Council and has previously served on the FICPA Committee on Relations with the Florida Bar.
