Debbie joined Cross, Fernandez and Riley, LLP (C/F/R) in 2007. As the partner-in-charge of forensic accounting and litigation support, she manages all aspects of this practice area for the Orlando firm. Debbie provides litigation, forensic accounting and fraud consulting services to C/F/R’s clients. She works with private and public companies ranging in size from start-up operations to $1.5 billion in annual revenue. Debbie has specialized expertise with companies in the following industries: consumer electronics manufacturing and distribution, underwater-mateable connector technology, telecommunications, defense, global Tier-one automotive manufacturing and software development and services for utilities and local government markets.
Debbie gained diverse experience in public accounting prior to joining C/F/R. She worked as sole proprietor of her own forensic accounting CPA firm, Senior Vice President in a forensic accounting firm, partner with a national professional services organization and consultant and interim Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to several companies. Adept in various CFO, controllership and treasury functions, she has experience providing services in the areas of financial analysis, SEC reporting, mergers and acquisitions, human resources administration, budgeting, cash management, banking relationships, contract negotiations and risk management.
Debbie also actively shares her expert knowledge with colleagues and other members of the professional business community. She is a frequent presenter at national conferences and seminars on topics including internal controls, Sarbanes-Oxley and fraud. Debbie has also authored forensic accounting CPE courses, is a teacher for the University of Phoenix and DeVry University and is host/author of a monthly web audio accounting news digest.
Debbie has been a member of the FICPA since 1997 and of the VFALS Section since 2003 where she serves as the Vice Chair of the FY 2008-09 VFALS Section Steering Committee.
