All members of the Florida Board of Accountancy are appointed by the Governor and subject to confirmation by the Florida Senate. Pursuant to s. 473.303, F.S., seven of the board members must be CPAs who have practiced public accounting on a substantially full-time basis for at least five years. Two must be laypersons (consumers members) “who are not and have never been CPAs or members of any closely related profession or occupation.” At least one member must be over 60 years of age.* Served out previous members term
