Educators
The Florida Institute of CPAs is dedicated to supporting our high school and college educators who are in a position to reach out to the CPAs of tomorrow.
The Internal Revenue Service today advised teachers and other educators to save their receipts for books and other classroom supplies. They will be able to deduct up to $250 of such expenses again this year, following recently-enacted legislation.
We have a number of resources especially designed to promote accounting careers and education as well as the CPA designation available for educators to use in the classroom.
Look here to find the latest instructional materials available to use with your own curricula, information about our Minority Residency Program, and other initiatives.
Do you teach college? You may be interested in becoming an FICPA Campus Champion. These individuals serve as a liaison between the FICPA and academia, especially students, to provide information about FICPA membership and the current professional trends to educational institutions.
Do you teach high school? Most of the high schools in Florida have a “High School Coordinator” assigned. These individuals are FICPA members who are available to speak about the many opportunities in accounting in your class, at a job fair, or during a career-day event. See the List of Assigned HSCs to find out who is assigned to your school; their contact information is available on the List of HSCs.
