1040K Race Scholarships
The FICPA Educational Foundation will be accepting applications in January/February 2008 for 1040K Race scholarships to be awarded at the April 15, 2008, 1040K Race in Coconut Grove. To be eligible, a student must be an African American who is a permanent resident of Miami-Dade, Broward, Palm Beach, or Monroe Counties. They must also be a full-time, 4th or 5th year accounting major at one of the following colleges or universities:
- Barry University
- Florida Atlantic University
- Florida International University
- Florida Memorial College

- Nova Southeastern University
- St. Thomas University
- University of Miami

In January 2008, students should contact the Accounting Scholarship Chairman at their school for an application and to receive further details. If you are not sure who to contact, please call or email Betsy Wilson at 850-224-2727, ext. 224, or wilsonb@ficpa.org.
Students must submit a completed application along with a complete, official transcript to the Accounting Scholarship Chairman who, along with other accounting faculty, will review the application. If the application is selected, it will be forwarded to the FICPA Educational Foundation on behalf of the applicant. The absolute deadline for applications to be received by the Foundation is February 15, 2008, so contact your chairman in early January!
