Florida Institute on Federal Taxation® Conference 2007 Recap
The Florida Institute on Federal Taxation® Conference was held December 5-7 at the beautiful Gaylord Palms Resort in Orlando. Over 150 CPAs were treated to a variety of topics presented by some of the top names in the industry.
Katherine Breaks opened the conference on Wednesday with an update on Federal Tax Legislation; Lawrence Heinkel talked on Representing the Failing or Failed Business; Grace Flowers with the IRS presented The New IRS Initiative; Charles Egerton reviewed the Hot Topics in Real Estate; and Loyd Rawls ended the day with information on Succession Planning.
Thursday kicked off with Nick Gruidl talking about the IRS Partnership Taxation Section 704 (b) and (c); Mathew Borrack followed with Section 199: A Practical Approach Workshop; Natalie Tucker provided insight into Accounting Periods and Methods – Planning Opportunities for Your Clients; Jay Van Heyde presented a lunch presentation on Non-Qualified Deferred Compensation Issues; Richard Comiter and Domenick Lioce presented on Choice of Business Entity and Guillermo Fernandez-Quincoces ended the day with information on Income Tax Planning for International Clients.
Barry Nelson started the day Friday with a presentation on Estate and Asset Protection – Techniques to Consider Today and Recent Case Rulings; Charles Wilder followed this with Retirement Planning, IRA Trusts and the Pension Protection Act; Alan Daniels wrapped up the conference with his session on Partnership Agreements. All in all, everyone who attended was given the opportunity to upgrade their skills and knowledge and gain valuable CPE credits.
