Health Care Industry Conference Recap

Speakers, Attendees and Vendors Abound at the FICPA’s 2007 Health Care Industry Conference!

Held on April 26-27, 2007, this year’s conference was host to more than 300 professionals who are involved in the health care industry. As co-sponsors, the Florida Hospital Association, Georgia Society of CPAs and HFMA helped the FICPA provide attendees with the knowledge, expertise, and know-how to remain a leader in the health care industry.

Local, regional, and national speakers presented in-depth information about the latest trends and updates surrounding the health care industry during the two-day conference. Offering a multi-track agenda, attendees were able to choose from three educational tracks, offering a variety of topics for both Accounting & Auditing and Industry.

Featured keynote speaker Alexander Acosta, US Attorney for the Southern District of Florida’s US Department of Justice, kicked off the conference with a presentation on Healthcare Fraud and Abuse in Florida. Other general session topics included:

• Physician Buy In and Buy Out Arrangements
• Future of Healthcare Compensation

In addition to a loaded agenda with multiple “must know” topics, the FICPA Health Care Industry Conference had 17 vendors and sponsors who participated in the event. Attendees were able to visit with 15 companies who provide products and services for CPAs within the Health Care industry. Also, a $150 cash prize was up for grabs to the attendees that visited the vendors.
