2008 State and Local Government Accounting Conference
The FICPA’s 2008 State and Local Government Accounting Conference was held on August 21-22, at the Hyatt Regency Orlando International Airport.
The conference was a huge success despite Tropical Storm Faye’s attempt to keep attendees away. During seven days in Florida, August 18–24, 2008, Fay traveled through the entire state dumping heavy rains which resulting in major flooding in the Orlando area.

- GAQC and National Single Audit Sampling Project
Mary M. Foelster, CPA Director, Governmental Auditing and Accounting AICPA, Washington, DC
- Oops! I stepped in a Pile of Fraud
Bret Hood, Special Agent, Federal Bureau of Investigation, Ft. Myers
- GASB 45 – A Case Study
Stacey B. Levine, FSA, EA, Director, Actuary, RSM McGladrey, Inc. Chicago
