Additionally, UF Committee member Brad Gould provided the attendees with information about a fundraising effort being conducted by the Fisher School of Accounting in the name of its longtime past director and former professor Dr. Jack Kramer. The goal of the Fisher School of Accounting is to raise enough money to fund a professorship at the University of Florida. Brad noted Professor Kramer’s contributions to the Fisher School and the accounting profession and the school's desire to honor Dr. Kramer with this endowment as quickly as possible due to his failing health. Erik Kahill from the UF Fisher School of Accounting was also at the conference to discuss the Kramer Endowment as well as answer general questions about the Accounting Department.
Several attendees enjoyed a great opportunity to visit with fellow UF alumni at the Thursday evening reception. There were appearances by Mr. Two Bits, the UF Cheerleaders, and UF mascots, Albert and Alberta, who led everyone in festive cheers in anticipation of the upcoming UF Homecoming football game against Vanderbilt.
