Previous Legislative Sessions Archive

The FICPA has enjoyed extremely successful legislative sessions over the past several of years.  Straight off the heels from a year-long black eye on the accounting profession nationwide and the services tax battle on the state level during the 2002 session, we looked forward to playing defense for once in the coming years.  The FICPA’s main focus has been to inform the current and newly elected state legislative body about a “reasoned approach” to accounting reform and the ever-changing environment of accounting regulation. 

As always, each legislative session brings with it good and bad news for many, however, in response to our lobbying efforts, the Governmental Affairs staff has seen much success.  Here you can view information on our successes from the previous legislative sessions.
