2006 Legislative Session
On Tuesday, March 7, 2006 the Florida legislature convened in Tallahassee. While the state Constitution mandates that the only bill the Legislature must pass is a state budget, members of the legislature have already filed over 2,300 bills for the 60 day session. Regular Session is scheduled to end on May 5, 2006.
Key issues for the FICPA during the upcoming session include:
- Removal of CPA Language from the Florida Clean Indoor Air Act
- Repeal of Joint and Several Liability
- The deficit at the Florida Board of Accountancy
- Sales Tax on Services Amendments
- Constitutional Amendment Reform
- Caps on Appeal Bonds
- Financial Requirements for HOAs and Condos
