On Jan. 25, House Bill 145 by Rep. Don Brown, R-DeFuniak Springs, unanimously passed the House Judiciary Committee. If passed by the legislature, this bill will remove exceptions to a requirement for liability based on fault-percentage instead of joint and several liabilities. The Bill has one more committee stop in the House. Its Senate companion bill has yet to be filed.
