FICPA Board Approves Section Charters, Unmonitored Listservs and New Section Launch
At its December meeting, the FICPA Board of Governors voted unanimously to renew the charters of all seven Sections. Section policies require that the board annually review the program and vote on whether to continue the charters of each Section. Members can choose from seven Sections including Business Technology, Common Interest Realty Associations, Florida Industry, Florida State Tax, Management of an Accounting Practice, State and Local Government, and Valuation, Forensic Accounting and Litigation Services.
During its review of the Sections Annual Report, the board approved an important Listserv management change. Soon, Section Listservs will be available to members 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and member posts will no longer be screened prior to publication. Members who use the service must adhere to Listserv policies including those prohibiting discussion of fees.
Look for the expanded service to take place as soon as modifications to existing Listserv policies and procedures are complete. This change is an example of the FICPA’s continuing commitment to facilitate meaningful member-to-member knowledge sharing and networking.
