COMMUNITY SERVICE OPPORTUNITY THROUGH IRS VITA PROGRAM

The Wealth Building Coalition of Pinellas County, in conjunction with the IRS, provides free tax return preparation for low-income taxpayers in Pinellas County under the Volunteer Income Tax Preparation [VITA] program. Volunteers receive initial training from the IRS and then help needy individuals and families file their tax returns. The VITA program offers tax preparation at many conveniently located sites in the Pinellas County area. The next tax filing season is from January 15, 2010 to April 15, 2010.

The VITA program needs professional CPAs to help in this worthy program of community service. Your experience and knowledge is invaluable in guiding and helping the volunteers. This is great opportunity for retired CPAs to become engaged within their communities. Please think seriously about participating in the VITA program. Site coordinators are especially needed.
