 Ray Britt began serving as Finance Director for the City of Palm Coast in December 2001 and has now been working in local government for twenty-one years. Prior to assuming his current position, he was Comptroller for the City of Port Orange for almost seven (7) years and he had more than ten (10) years with the City of Lakeland holding the positions of Accountant, Assistant City Treasurer, and Chief Accountant. He received his Accounting degree from Florida Southern College in 1983 and a Master of Public Administration degree from the University of Central Florida in 1996. He obtained the designation of Certified Public Accountant in 1998 and joined the FICPA and the Volusia County Chapter shortly thereafter. He now holds six (6) additional business and accounting certifications (CPFO, CGFO, CGFM, CMA, CFM, and CBM).
