Arlene Ravalo-Jao is a Manager with RSM McGladrey in Ft. Lauderdale. Arlene has over ten years of consulting experience, currently specializing in forensic accounting, litigation support consulting and business valuation services. Forensic accounting and litigation support assignments include forensic accounting investigations, economic damages, loss of profits, breach of contract and patent infringement. Business appraisals include purchase price allocation (SFAS 141), intangible assets, impairment testing (SFAS 142, 144), and valuation for estate and gift tax purposes for a wide variety of industries.
In addition to business enterprise valuations, Arlene has performed valuation consulting services for a variety of unique assignments including: determination of the appropriate discounts for lack of control and lack of marketability associated with limited partnership and other equity interests, venture capital and private equity placements. Previously, Arlene worked for a private equity and venture capital firm and was involved evaluating investment opportunities, structuring M&A transactions and managing portfolio companies.
Arlene is a licensed CPA in Florida and Puerto Rico. She holds the AICPA valuation and forensic credentials, Accredited in Business Valuation (ABV) and Certified in Financial Forensics (CFF). She is a member of the FICPA Young CPA Committee, Estate Planning Council of Broward County and the Puerto Rico Society of CPAs, among other organizations. Arlene has been a member of the FICPA and the VFALS Section since 2004 and is a member of the FY 2009-10 VFALS Section Steering Committee.
