The FICPA has expanded the scope of its financial literacy programs by joining the American Institute of CPA’s national “360 Degrees of Financial Literacy” initiative to improve the financial understanding of Americans. This initiative provides a comprehensive approach to financial education, focusing on the information that people need at each stage of their lives from childhood to retirement.
The “360 Degrees of Financial Literacy” Web site, located at www.360financialliteracy.org, focuses on major life stages and issues that trigger financial concerns: childhood, college, career, military and reserves, couples and marriage, parenthood, homeownership, entrepreneurs, life crisis, sandwich generation, and retirement. Visitors will find general financial information including strategies for saving and investing, managing debt, dealing with creditors and avoiding bankruptcy.
The financial literacy site also includes over 350 articles, 500 FAQs, and 200 calculators, worksheets and other tools.
